I want to make a game where new game+ is a key gameplay component. something with multiple endings where each run through the game alters the world in some way for the next run. getting the true ending would require some meta puzzle solving.

@dthompson Nier Automata has something like that. It's not quite as elaborate as the way you envision it though.

@loke I couldn't pull off anything too elaborate, but it would be cool to play a game where actions that lead to a bad ending alter the game so that the next generation (or maybe your past self) can succeed.
