The security/privacy paradox:

To make a system secure and private, it needs to be 100% transparent to the Good People, and 100% opaque to the Bad People.

But the system has no way of knowing whether any given People are Good or Bad.

They may even be the exact same People at the exact same time, just seen through different People's eyes.

Corporate denials lack meaningful signal but "we thought a strong and specific denial would be better than not denying it." I'm not convinced either way, but.... it sure would be weird if China didn't try something like this. They have the opportunity, the means, and the motive.

It's kinda funny that the C64 gets all the love while the C128 (which I would have died for back in the day) gets short shrift.
